If you didn’t notice, Facebook was unavailable for about 12 minutes or so yesterday. The amount of time is actually arguable depending on your location.
- Facebook has over 55,000 servers providing the web page to its users.
- Those servers are located in over 100 different data centers around the world.
- If one server goes down, or even an entire data center, most users would never know. It just rolls over to an available server/data center
If you are trying to achieve the same level of service and redundancy and paying $4.00 per month for hosting, you are probably the same mental midget that is posting the Facebook Privacy blather and probably shouldn’t even own a mobile phone much less trying to make a web presence for yourself.
