Ok. Normally I bitch moan and groan about online retailers. If you remember, back in May I lambasted Home Depot for their crappy ass service. And my tirades about Sprint Wireless are never ending.
Well here’s a chance for me to give a shout out to Lowe’s.
I was looking for a very specific set of steel shelves. The shelving unit is 6 feet tall and each shelf can hold 1000 pounds. It has a smooth front to all the stanchions so you don’t see the shelf support system.
They didn’t have one at my local Lowe’s but they did at the one across town. So I ordered and paid for it online. Tracie will be able to pic it up tomorrow.
When the confirmation email came in, I saw the name of the shelving and realized it was the wrong one. I called their Customer Care number. I wish I would have thought to get the name of the woman that answered the phone. She was funny and the first words out of her mouth were, “We can fix this right now.” (Greatest words a customer service rep can say to a customer by the way.)
Within a few minutes she had called the store directly and had them pull the other set, the one I wanted not the one I ordered and had everything switched around. No refunds, no credit card transactions, not jumping through hoops. Simply called the store, and made it happen.
I in turn called the store and had them put Tracie’s name on the box so she could pick it up tomorrow.
THIS is good customer service!!! Way to SMASH Home Depot and win my support!
The shelf on the left is the one I ordered. The shelf on the right is the one I wanted.
