I know some of my friends are not fans of the Columbia River Knife and Tool products. Some are. I have never had a problem with them over the years of carrying their folders.
I picked up this Ken Onion “Skinner” on the internet for a good price. Received it and love the blade but HATE the sheath.
In my over eager attempts at trying to make the sheath more user friendly (like, being able to put the knife back into it) I ruined the one that came with the knife.
I contacted their customer service about how to order just the replacement sheath. They emailed me back in about 4 hours and said they had a “Free Parts” website for replacement parts. (http://www.crktparts.com/). I explained that I didn’t mind paying for it and didn’t expect them to send it to me free and the representative assured me there was no problem. I filled out the form and in the narrative put that I needed a new sheath.
This was on November 26th. I received the new sheath today, no charge, no gimmicks.
They didn’t have to do that, my fumbling around did not have to be covered under their warranty, yet they chose to anyway. I think I will be shopping for a few more odds and ends under the CRKT brand banner now.
Good on ya!
