In an emergency situation, you may not have time to put together all the documents you need. Medical information, insurance cards, insurance policies, contact information. It would probably be best to have this already in place.
If you are anything like me, this stuff is in a file cabinet in your home office or bedroom.
About a year ago, through my work, I met an inventor and entrepreneur named Daniel Daoura. I worked on his server for him brining it back online and getting it working for him.
He was marketing a product called the EZGO Wallet.
I ordered one. And the more I got to thinking about it, the more I liked the idea of having it for a preparedness situation.
I use mine in my Every Day Carry (EDC) bag. I keep credit cards, ID documents (Drivers license, concealed carry permit, health insurance cards), about $300 cash (because in a disaster, ATMs may not be available), and an SD Card with scans of other important documents including birth certificates, insurance policies, and anything else I can think of. The EZGO has a small slot in it to store this information and for the most part, its out of site for security.
Mine stays in my EDC bag just in case.
