Any bonafide ammunition experts feel free to chime in if I am wrong here. When I was a police officer, we used to download our carry ammo about once every 90 days or so. It may have been 180 days. I don’t really remember. Regardless, we did not carry the same ammunition in our weapons that was issued to us on the day we hired on. Period. We did this because our lives may depend on that one round in the chamber or magazine.
On several local “Gun Swap” groups on Facebook, I see people treating Winchester’s Black Talon ammunition like the holy grail of ammo. Some one will put up a Tupperware container with 7 rounds in it for sale and these people will jump through their asses to get it at a buck a round. WHY?
Winchester made Black Talon ammunition from 1991 through 2001. 13 years ago. WHY?
Why would you place 13 (or more) year old ammunition in a firearm that you or your family may depend on for your life?
I may be way off base here but I still keep fresh ammunition in my carry gun all the time.
